District Pinewood Derby - April 5th Thursday, Mar 13 2008

All boys are welcome to participate in the District Pinewood Derby on April 5th as long as they register by the March 28th deadline. The District Derby will be held at St. John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church at 5858 Cleveland Avenue from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Check-in begins at 9:00 am and all cars must be checked-in by 9:30 to race.  The fee is $5.

To register, complete the registration form and mail it to the District office by March 28th.  The address is on the form. Further details on the District Derby web page.

 

Blue and Gold Banquet - Thursday Feb. 14 Tuesday, Feb 12 2008 

Events and Pack 632 and Scouting Pack 632 8:40 am

Please join us as we celebrate scouting, the accomplishments of our pack and most importantly the achievements of our Cub Scouts at the Blue and Gold banquet on Thursday, February 14 at 7:00 in the Wilson Hill Cafeteria.

We will be dining on pizza and are asking each scout to bring one thing to share: Tigers a 2-liter of soda, Wolves a side dish and Webelos a dessert.

Volunteers Needed for Pinewood Derby Monday, Jan 21 2008

We need help setting up the 2 race tracks on Friday, January 25 at 6:30 p.m. at Wilson Hill.We also need volunteers to assist on Saturday throughout the day at a variety of jobs, including registration and inspection, vote tallying, running the race, running the snack table, and others.   If you can help, please email Shane Hughes.  Thanks!! 

 

Pinewood Derby Details Monday, Jan 21 2008

The Pack 632 Pinewood Derby is Saturday, January 26th  in the Wilson Hill Gym.

  • 12:00 - 1:00  Registration and inspection of cars 
  • 1:00 - 1:30   Pack meeting
  • 1:30 - 4:00  Race culminating in awards

Each child will receive a ticket at the door that is redeemable for drink and cookies. Please have lunch before arriving because no meal will be served.

Pack 632’s 2008 Pinewood Derby will be held on Saturday, January 26th in the Wilson Hill Cafeteria. The time will be announced soon.

Please review the rules when creating your car. In addition to a contest of speed, cars will also be judged on these categories:

  • Most Patriotic
  • Most Scout-like
  • Best Use of Imagination
  • Judge’s Favorite
  • Audience Favorite

Please note that this event takes the place of the January Pack meeting, originally scheduled for Jan. 10.
